our Pastor suggested that I take a look at your site, and so I did! We're a sorta blended congregation of some very seniors and some middle agers, and the odd 30 something. I'm the 60 yr old trying, for the past 25 years, to make contemporary music popular in the mix, usually with an acoustic guitar, or bass or even a drum kit sometimes. We use the ELW a lot, for settings 6, 7, 8, and 10. Our service hymns to contemporary songs ratio is about 70:30, but I often work with our keyboardist/pianist to re-arrange the hymn to be led by a guitar with a keyboard pad accompaniment underneath.
